(Dick) Brooks Sr., 43, of 113 Main Street, Ridgeley, W.Va., died June 5, 1980 in Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, Md. He was born at Ridgeley, and was a son of the late Charles M. Brooks and Rose A. (Garlitz) Brooks. He was a retired employee of PPG Industries and an Air Force veteran. He was a member of Gold Star Post 6452, Ridgeley VFW, and Local 180, Glass Workers Union. He is survived by his widow, Elizabeth Ann (Carder) Brooks; one son, James R. Brooks Jr., and one daughter, Barbara Ann Brooks, both at home; two sisters, Mrs. Stella Benson, Ridgeley, W.Va.; and Mrs. Beulah O'Baker of Frostburg, Md.; one brother, Charles C. Brooks, Ridgeley, W.Va. and one half-brother, Leo F. Baer of Meyersdale. Friends were received at the George Funeral Home. Services were conducted in the funeral home with Father Bob Craig, chaplain of Sacred Heart Hospital, officiating. Interment will be in Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens. The Republic, June 12, 1980 [B2798]
