  MRS. CHARLES M. BROOKS
  
    Mrs. R. Alice Brooks, 78, of Ridgeley, W.Va., died Dec. 25, 1971,
  in Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, where she had been admitted Dec.
  21.  She had been in failing health for several months.
    Born in Avilton, Md., she was a daughter of the late Thomas H. and
  Stella (Fuller) Garlitz.  She was twice married and preceded in death
  by both husbands, Guy L. Baer and Charles M. Brooks.
    Surviving are three sons, Leo Baer, Meyersdale; Charles and James
  R. Brooks, both of Ridgeley, W.Va.; two daughters, Mrs. Stella
  Benson, Ridgeley, and Mrs. Beulah O'Baker, Wellersburg; seven
  grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Albert
  Sturtz, and a brother, William C. Garlitz, both of Meyersdale.
    Funeral service was conducted Tuesday afternoon in George Funeral
  Home, Cumberland, with Rev. Ronald R. Winterberg officiating. 
  Interment in Union Cemetery, Meyersdale.
