(Mitchell) Swindell Brown, 69, 417 Lou St., Scottdale, passed away Oct. 4 in Frick Community Health Center, Mt. Pleasant. She was born Jan. 9, 1920 in Summit Mills, daughter of the late Russell and Sally (Linderman) Mitchell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons: Eugene and George Swindell; first husband, Carl Swindell; two brothers, James and Clarence Mitchell; and two sisters: Anabelle Younkin and Esther Mitchell. She is survived by husband of 13 years, Lawrence E. Brown; four daughters: Mrs. Barbara Viele, R.I.; Mrs. Robert (Barbara) Martinoski, Mt. Pleasant; Mrs. Ken (Joanette) Evans, Tenn.; and Mrs. Robee (Rose Mary) Hays, Mt. Pleasant; three sons: Wayne Swindell, Va.; David Brown, Mt. Pleasant; Lawrence O. Brown, Mt. Pleasant; 2 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles Henry Mitchell, Mt. Union; four sisters: Mrs. Meriam Lingenfelter, Md.; Mrs. Edward (Martha) Flynn; Mrs. Delbert (Grace) Flynn, both of Fla.; and Mrs. Ray R. (Jane) Garlick, South Connellsville. She was a member of Christian Church of Meyersdale. Friends were received in Frank Kapr Funeral Home, 417 W. Pittsburgh St., Scottdale, where funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home, with Rev. Jerry Hughes, pastor of Pennsylvania Baptist Church officiating.
