Brown, died Monday morning, July 25th, at 9:40 o'clock, at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Zedekiah Hoar, Front Street, with whom she had been living since the state of her health forced her to give up the cares of housekeeping at her home on Olinger Street, some months ago. Mrs. Brown had been ill for some time, suffering from heart affection and kindred ailments, but it had only been within the past several weeks that she was forced to take to her bed. She was conscious to the end and conversed freely with her children and friends almost to her last breath, making preferences as to the funeral arrangements, the hymns she desired sung at the service, and other minor matters. Mrs. Brown was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Kuehneman who will be known by the older residents of Meyersdale as having been old and well known citizens of town, having for many years resided on Salisbury Street on the site of the property now owned and occupied by Former Burgess Valentine Gress, who was married to Sarah Kuehneman, a sister of Mrs. Brown, and who passed away several years ago. The deceased was in her 69th year. For a number of years Mrs. Brown occupied the family home on Olinger Street, where her husband died, and when she went to the South Side to live she was greatly missed by her neighbors, who held her in high esteem, and hoping that the change might prove beneficial to her health. But treacherous and unrelenting disease had gained the mastery, and notwithstanding her unusually rugged constitution, she succumbed, as above noted. Mrs. Brown is survived by the following sons and daughters: Frank P. Brown, a member of the staff of the Meyersdale Republican; Henry Brown, of near Somerset; Mrs. Zedekiah Hoar and Mrs. Andrew Stein, Meyersdale; Mrs. H. B. Smith, of Pittsburgh, and Mrs. Ira Boger, of Akron, Ohio. Funeral services were conducted this (Thursday) afternoon at the Hoar home on Front Street by the Rev. Blanchard Allen Black, pastor of Amity Reformed Church, of which congregation the deceased was identified from early childhood, and of which she was a faithful and active adherent. The services were largely attended, and the floral offerings were both numerous and beautiful. Undertaker W. C. Price prepared the body for burial, and interment was made in the Reformed Church Cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, July 28, 1932
