Brown, 67, Somerset RD 1, died Sept. 27, 1989 at his home. Born March 1, 1922 in Meyersdale, a son of the late Isiah and Mary Ann (Crissinger) Brown. Also preceded by two brothers, James and John, and four sisters, Clara Beal, Mary Ferencuha, Mabel Meyers and Martha Brown. Survived by wife, the former Janet Myra Steinly and these children: Mrs. Lynn Shaffer and Jeffrey A., both of Somerset RD 1; and two grandsons, Rick and Scott. A brother of George, Largo Fla.; Charles, Berlin; and Sarah Pockstaller, Connellsville. Former owner and operator of Brown's Service Station, Somerset RD 1. Veteran of U. S. Army World War II. Member of Somerset V.F.W. 554 and the Meyersdale American Legion Post 112. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale, where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Pastor Susan Winger officiating.
