Brown, 83, Meyersdale RD 1, died Dec. 21, 1987 in Somerset Community Hospital. Born Aug. 17, 1904 in Meyersdale, son of the late Peter F. and Mary A. (Pugh) Brown. Also preceded in death by three sisters and one brother. Survived by his wife, the former Lillie M. Engle; and five brothers: Mahlon, Defiance, Ohio; Homer, New Paris; Dalton and Raymond, both of Reading; and Joseph, Meyersdale. His death terminates a marriage of 61 years. He was a member of the St. Paul (Wilhelm) United Church of Christ where he served as a deacon and an elder and was the treasurer for 38 years. He was a former member of the Salisbury-Elk Lick School Board and a retired employee of the Queen City Dairy of Meyersdale. Friends will be received today 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Thomas Funeral Home, Salisbury. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the St. Paul United Church of Christ, with the Rev. Carl P. Mitchell officiating. Interment, St. Paul Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Daily American, December 23, 1987 [B2850]
