Born Aug. 12, 1911, he was the son of the late Hiram and Nannie (Dietle) Brown. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jenny (Smith) Brown; a grandson, Jeff; four brothers: Frank, Ray, Elmer, and Clyde; and three sisters: Erma Pritts, June Decker, and Pauline Gnagey. He is survived by these children: Patty, Bolivar; Jack, Irwin; and Barbara, Tempe, Az.; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was a brother of Hilda Swindell and Robert Brown, both of Meyersdale. Mr. Brown was a veteran of World War II and was retired from the Pennsylvania Turnpike. He also lived in Roanoke, Va. a number of years. Funeral arrangements were made in Greensburg, where cremation took place. New Republic, September 15, 1994 [B2854]
