Brown, 74, Upper Yoder Township, died March 29, 2005, at Select Specialty Hospital. Born Sept. 24, 1930, in Johnstown, daughter of the late Harry Brown and Margaret (Heilman), and stepdaughter of the late William Lepper. Survived by brothers, Robert Brown and wife, Rachael, Newton Falls, Ohio; cousin, Colleen Gore, Phoenix, Ariz.; and several other cousins, nieces and nephews. Graduated from Shanksville-Stonycreek High School and the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Brown, Professor Emeritus, was a retired biology and botany teacher at Slippery Rock State College, Wayne State University and the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, and upon her retirement, she was a volunteer at Windber Hospice. She was a council member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, president of the Cambria-Somerset County Multiple Sclerosis Society, past president of the former Johnstown Soroptimists, Johnstown Art League and the UPJ Women's Association, member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Allegheny Plateau Audubon Society, Sage Herbalists of the Laurel Highlands and the Embroiderer's Guild of America. Friends will be received from 2 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary Inc., West Hills, 921 Menoher Boulevard, where a service will be held 10 a.m. Friday. The Rev.
