Born Sept. 15, 1914, in Somerset. Son of the late Henry G. and Maude E. (Sheeler) Brown. Preceded in death by brother, Jack Robert Brown, and sister, Sally O'Conner. Survived by wife, the former Nedra Arlene Kramer; son, G. Drexel Brown, married to the former Virginia Ruth Held, of Leechburg; grandchildren: Amelia Lynn and Russell Kramer Brown, and sister, Mrs. Violet L. Pomroff, Baltimore, Md. Retired vice president and general manager of Altoona Division, the Atlantic and Pacific Tea Co., from 1950 to 1973 and Philadelphia Division from 1973 to 1979. World War II veteran of U.S. Merchant Marine. 1932 graduate of Somerset High School. Member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ of Somerset; Sunnehanna Lodge 742, F&AM; Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite; Allegheny Mountain Forest 127, Tall Cedars of Lebanon; Jaffa Temple of Altoona; Cambria Council 32, R&SM; Oriental Commandery of Knights Templar. Former trustee and elder on Bethany Presbyterian Church of Johnstown and The First Presbyterian Church of Hollidaysburg. Friends will be received from 2 to 3 p.m. Monday, May 8, at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset, where services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Monday, Rev. Glenn E. Sadler officiating.
