Brown, 91, died Dec. 26, 1997 in Defiance Hospital, Ohio. Born April 19, 1906 in Meyersdale, he was the son of Peter and Mary (Pugh) Brown. In 1930 he married Blanche Boyland, who survives. He was a coal miner in Pennsylvania and worked for B & H Trucking, Defiance, retired in 1975. He was a member of Three Rivers Christian Fellowship Church. In addition to his wife, Mr. Brown is survived by two daughters: Phyllis (Mrs. George) Bloom, Defiance, Ohio; and Joanne (Mrs. Charles) Foust, Zephyrhills, Fla., two brothers: Homer, New Paris; and Joseph, Meyersdale; nine grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Mr. Brown was preceded in death by a son, Mahlon, in infancy; a daughter, Mary; four brothers: William, Charles, Raymond and Dalton; three sisters: Margaret Seifert, Emma Gindlesperger and Mary Moranduzzo; and two great-grandchildren. Services were held at the Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home, with Rev. James Schoch officiating. Interment, Riverview Memory Gardens. New Republic, January 8, 1998 [B2930]
