      Marguerite C. "Joan" Brown, 85, Salisbury, died Oct. 11, 1994 at
  Conemaugh Hospital, Johnstown.  Born Oct. 16, 1908 at West
  Salisbury.  Daughter of the late William and Fredericka (Gerke)
  Diehl.  Preceded in death by her husband,  Leon I. "Peanut" Brown, on
  May 19, 1990.  Survivors include a son, Donald "Peanut" S. Brown,
  Salisbury; a daughter, Kathy Layman, Somerset; a brother, George
  "Joe' Diehl, Salisbury; 7 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren. 
  Member of Salisbury Church of the Brethren.  Friends were received
  Thursday evening and will be received from 9 a.m. to time of service
  at 1 p.m. today (Friday) at Newman Funeral Home, Inc., Salisbury,
  with the Rev. Daniel Whitacre officiating.  Interment, Salisbury
  Cemetery.  Expressions of sympathy may be directed to Salisbury
  Church of the Brethren.
