All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/somerset/ ________________________________________________ MARY ANN BROWN Mrs. Mary Ann (Crissinger) Brown, resident of Olinger Street, Meyersdale, died Monday, June 24, 1940, at 10:22 p.m., in the Hazel McGilvery Hospital, where she had been a patient for several weeks. Born in Greenville Township May 21, 1882, she located in Meyersdale when quite young. At the time of her death she was aged 58 years, 1 month and 3 days. She was a daughter of the late Elias and Elizabeth (Getty) Crissinger. Her husband, Isaiah Brown, died about four years ago. Surviving children - George, James, Charles and Bernard Brown, Mrs. Luther Beal, Mrs. Homer W. Ebaugh, Mrs. Emil Ferencuha, all of Meyersdale, and Mrs. Ross Meyers of Frostburg, Md. She also leaves these brothers and sisters - Henry, William and Philip Crissinger, of Larimer Township; Mrs. Carolina Harding, of Somerset, and Mrs. Lucinda Stott, of Akron, Ohio. Mrs. Brown was a member of SS. Philip and James Catholic Church, and also of the Sodality. Mrs. Brown was admired by all who knew her for her cheerful disposition and unbounded and tireless energy. During years of invalidism of her husband, she was the chief support of the family. She reared her children in the ways of industry and thrift. She was also a faithful worker in her church. Funeral services this (Thursday) morning at 9:00 in SS. Philip and James' Church, the pastor, Father Howard T. Miller, officiating. Interment in SS. Philip and James' Cemetery under the direction of R. Reich and Son, local morticians. Meyersdale Republican, June 27, 1940
