    Mary Rita Brown, 77, Somerset, died March 14, 2008, at Somerset Hospital. Born March
  31, 1930, in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, N.Y., the daughter of Edward and Susan Collins.
  Preceded in death by parents; husband, Donald Francis Brown, who died April 6, 1997.
  Survived by niece, Adena Custer and husband, Robert, Somerset; great-nieces and nephews,
  Linda Hamilton, Somerset; Ronald Custer, Shanksville; Sandra Close and husband, Randy,
  Somerset; Edward Custer and wife, Cris, Berlin; John Custer and wife, Kathy, Somerset;
  and David Custer and wife, Heather, Shanksville; also numerous great-great-nieces and
  nephews. She worked as a cook for St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York. Also an active
  member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and St. Peter's seniors group. She was also a
  member of the Red Hat Society and 55 and Over Speeders. Friends received from 2 to 4 and
  7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Hauger- Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset. Funeral Mass will be
  conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Peter's Church, Somerset. The Monsignor Samuel J.
  Tomaselli, celebrant. Committal, St. John's Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given
  to St. Peter's Church or St. Peter's Catholic School, 433 W. Church St., Somerset, PA
  15501. Vigil for the deceased will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
