She was aged 60 years, 2 months and 23 days. Although in delicate health her death was very sudden, she being taken seriously ill one day before her death. Mrs. Brown was born in Henry Clay Township, Fayette County, Pa., on June 4th, 1870. She was a daughter of John N. and Emily Osler. She was married to James Ross Brown in January, 1887. She is survived by her husband and the following children: Mrs. Hanna Hayden, Mrs. Rosa Seymour and Albert Brown, Pittsburgh; Mrs. Bessie Snyder, Stoyestown, and Robert Brown, at home. One child died when young, 30 years ago. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, and the following brothers and sisters: M. R. Osler, Confluence, and Charles E. Osler, Connellsville, and by two half-sisters: Mrs. Ethel Hensel, Connellsville, and Mrs. Jennie Tressler, Confluence. She was a resident of Confluence the greater part of her life. She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church and Sunday school, having joined the Johnson Chapel congregation when young, and united with the Confluence church after moving here. Her whole life was devoted to her home and family and to the service of God. The funeral services took place at the family home at 1:30 p.m., on Tuesday, Rev. Howard W. Jamison, her pastor, assisted by Rev. Daniel E. Hartman, pastor of the Confluence Baptist Church, officiating. Interment was made in the Johnson Chapel cemetery where there was a short service with Rev. Hartman officiating. The floral tributes were very beautiful and numerous, attesting the high esteem in which Mrs. Brown was held. The pallbearers were her two sons, Robert and Albert Brown, two grandsons, Harold Hayden and Floyd Hayden, and two sons-in-law, Albert D. Hayden and Elmer H. Snyder. The Confluence Boy Scouts, of whom Robert Brown, a son of the deceased lady, is Scoutmaster, turned out in a body, and six of their members acted as flower bearers. Undertaker C. B.
