Born Sept. 14, 1893, he was the son of the late Thomas Jefferson Browning and Mary Watson Browning. He was a retired farmer, a veteran of World War I, and a member of Hoyes United Methodist Church, Accident Post 208 American Legion and VFW Post 10077. Surviving are two step-daughters, Mrs. Helen D. Vitez, Addison; Mrs. Mary Jo Chipman, Landover Hills, Md.; one brother, Guy W. Browning, Oakland; seven step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren. Friends were received at the Durst Funeral Home where services were conducted in Hoyes United Methodist Church by the Rev. Ellis Harvey. Interment, church cemetery.
