Browning, 58, of 100 Sunset Drive, of LaVale, Md., who was employed by the Board of Education as a guidance counselor at Fort Hill High School, died Thursday, Oct. 6, 1988, at his residence. He was born Jan. 15, 1930, in Cumberland, Md., the son of the late Irvin Meshach and Edna Estelle (Smith) Browning. An Air Force veteran of the Korean conflict, he was a member of the Maryland State Teachers Association, the Allegany County Teachers Association, and the National Education Association. He is survived by his widow, Mary Margaret "Peggy" (Sterbutzel) Browning; a son and daughter, William Meshach Browning and Lisa Anne Browning, both at home; and one sister, Edna Marie Browning, Henderson, Nev.
