Born May 22, 1914, in Ridgeley, W.Va. Son of the late Maurice Luther and Emma Frances (Eisler) Brubaker. Also preceded in death by brother Ralph Brubaker and sister Grace Wilson. Survived by his wife, the former Ruth Pauline Dumbauld, to whom he was married for 59 years; two daughters, Mrs. Robert M. (Sally) Rhodes Jr. of Somerset and Mrs. Everett D. (Jane) Shaffer of Palmyra; three grandchildren, Robert M. Rhodes III of Slippery Rock, Mrs. Samuel J. (Ruth K.) Romesberg of Rockwood RD 3, and Mrs. Matthew (Jennifer) Harris of Pittsburgh; great-granddaughter Abby Romesberg. Brother of Mrs. John (Blanche) Shuster, Jeanette, and Mrs. Anna Mae Carver, Big Fork, Montana. 1934 graduate of Somerset High School. Retired agent for Prudential Life Insurance Co., retiring in 1972 with 24 years of service. U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Member of First United Methodist Church, Somerset. Member of Somerset Borough Council since 1982, Somerset Lodge 358, F&AM, for over 50 years; past president of Somerset Lions Club, past member of Somerset School Board for 25 years, past treasurer of Appalachia IU 08, past president of Somerset County Artists Association, and member of Tableland Association Board. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset, where service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, the Rev. Dr. Arthur J. Gotjen officiating. Interment, St. John's Cemetery. Masonic service at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 149 W.
