Brubaker, 80, Hooversville R.D. 1, died Nov. 30, 1978 at Memorial Hospital. She was born Dec. 5, 1897, in Berkleys Mills (Meyersdale area), daughter of Edward C. and Elmira (Miller) Shumaker. She was preceded in death by parents, and four sisters. She is survived by husband, Kenneth E., and these children: Jean, widow of Hobert Berkey, Windber; Ray "Sonny," married to former Shirley Rugg, Hooversville R.D. 1; James, married to former Maureen Curry, Pleasantville, N.Y.; and Doris wife of William Gindlesperger, Meyersdale; also 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was a member of Ridge Church of the Brethren and Senior Citizens of Maple Spring. She was a former school teacher in Somerset County. Her death breaks a marriage union of 52 years. The family received friends at George E. Mason Funeral Home, Davidsville. Funeral services were held at Ridge Church of the Brethren with the Rev. Herald Seese officiating. Interment, P.O.S. of A.
