Bruening, 68, of Stoystown RD 3, died July 16, 1979 at his residence. Born Oct. 4, 1910 in Portage, a son of Frederick and Irma (Naueux) Bruening. Preceded in death by parents; five brothers and three sisters. Survived by wife, the former Mary Naomi Durand, whom he married Nov. 21, 1931; and these children: Mrs. Mary Kathryn Donia of Tenton, Mich.; Buddy of Sipesville; Connie of Stoystown Rd 3; Mrs. Jerry (Lois) Spaulding of Costa Mesa, Calif.; Daniel of Bedford RD 3; also 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandson. Brother of Ralph of Venice, Fla.; Ernest of Turnwater, Wash.; Fred of Houston, Texas, and Ray of Stoystown RD 3. He was a retired coal miner and Pa. Turnpike Commission guard; member of Grace Lutheran Church, Stoystown; UMWA, Greensburg; Teamsters Union; and Silver and Gold Senior Citizens, Shanksville. Family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in the Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. Ronald Long officiating assisted by the Rev. William Snyder. Interment, Odd Fellows Cemetery, Stoystown. Daily American, July 17, 1979 [B3001]
