Mr. Bryan was an esteemed and well known resident of Meyersdale and vicinity for a period of more than half a century. In his younger days he worked as a coal digger and later took up painting and paper-hanging, in which handicraft he became quite proficient. He possessed a pleasing disposition, and was liked by all with whom he came in contact. Three years ago a son, Harry Bryan, was drowned while engaged in fishing in the Youghiogheny River, near Somerfield, in company with a party of fishermen, including his father, which proved an exceedingly hard blow to his parents, brothers and sisters. About three months ago another son, Wilson Bryan, passed away in a Pittsburgh hospital, and it was since the death of the latter that Mr. Bryan had been bedfast. He is survived by his wife, who was Miss Zimmerman, and the following children: Bernard Bryan, of Akron, Ohio; Mrs. John Myers and Mrs. Theodore Dickson, of Pittsburgh. Funeral services were conducted at the Bryan home on Wednesday afternoon by the Rev. George Albert Fallon, pastor of the First Methodist Episcopal Church. Interment was in Union Cemetery under the direction of Undertaker W. C. Price. Meyersdale Republican, September 24, 1931
