  BUCHANAN
  
  Mrs. Mildred Lea Buchanan, 74, of Buffalo Mills RD 1, died Oct. 6,
  1977 at home.  Born Dec. 14, 1902 in Bedford County, daughter of the
  late George W. and Melinda (McVicker) Powell.  Preceded in death by a
  brother and sister.  Survived by husband, Emmens E. and a daughter,
  Carroll Jean, at home.  Her death ended a marriage union of 54
  years.  She was a member of the Pleasant Ridge United Methodist
  Church.  Friends received Friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the
  Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Shellsburg, where service will be held at
  11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Charles F. Rhodes officiating. 
  Interment, Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Buffalo Mills RD.
