Buchanan, 79, of Fort Washington, Pa., formerly of Windber, died July 29, 1972, in Abington Memorial Hospital, Abington, Pa. He was born on Sept. 12, 1892, in Somerset County, a son of the late James and Julia (Lohr) Buchanan. Survived by his widow, the former Sylva Shaffer and these children: Dwight L. of New Hartford, N.Y.; Miss F. Verdene Buchanan of Fort Washington, Pa.; two grandchildren. Also, these sisters and brothers: Mrs. Orange (Lottie) Lambert of Shanksville; Mrs. Clarence (Stella) Ott, Mrs. Arthur (Erma) Olsen and William, all of Stoystown RD; and Mrs. (Rella) Lohr of Hooversville RD.
