Edward Buckel, 80, of Swanton RD 2, Md., died March 24, 1975, in Garrett County Memorial Hospital, Oakland. A native of Bittinger, he was a son of the late Joseph and Alice (Bittinger) Buckel. He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church and a past member of the Church Council. He was also a member of Camp 68, Woodmen of the World. Surviving are his wife, the former Bertha Wiley; six sons, Blair and Robert Buckel, both of Bittinger; Blake and Richard Buckel, both of Cumberland; Max Buckel, Adelphi, Md.; and David Buckel, Richmond, Va.; five daughters, Mrs. Ferne Beachy, Bittinger; Mrs. June Green, Mrs. Beulah Moon and Mrs. Ruby Orendorf, all of Cumberland; and Mrs. Jo Ellen Graham, St. Albans, W.Va.; also 28 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; a stepson, Vernon Wiley, Akron, Ohio; a brother, Lawrence Buckel, Bittinger; and a sister, Mrs. Amanda Durr, Cresaptown, Md. Friends were received in Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, where funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock this (Thursday) morning, with Rev. L. F. Danner officiating.
