She is the wife of the late Dr. Charles C. Bull, who died in 1990. Born in Somerset County, she is the daughter of the late Homer and Lottie (Shaver) Shumaker. Two sisters, Mary Grace Berkebile and Thelma Dawson, preceded Julia in death. Julia is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles Eddy and Andrea Bull, St. Louis, Mo., and Richard D. and Alice Bull, Stroudsburg, Pa., four grandchildren, Eric Bull and his wife Jeanne of Savannah, Ga.; Kristin Bull, St. Louis, Joseph Bull, Redondo Beach, Calif., Patrick Bull, Stroudsburg; and many nieces and nephews. She is a graduate of Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing in Pittsburgh and was a registered nurse at Eye and Ear Hospital, Pittsburgh. As a volunteer nurse, Julia assisted doctors giving physicals to men going into the service and assisted with Red Cross classes in Nescopeck. Julia held membership in the Women's Civic Club, Twentieth Century Club, Order of the Eastern Star of Berwick and Wesley United Methodist Church of Nescopeck. Graveside service of Christian burial will be celebrated at noon at Pine Grove Cemetery, Walnut Street, Berwick.
