Bungard, 43, of Ebensburg, died Thursday, March 11, 1993, at the Presbyterian University Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born April 7, 1949, in Somerset, son of Clark "Ed" and Nellie (King) Bungard. Preceded in death by his father. Survived by his mother, Markleton; wife, Nancy (Koontz) Bungard, whom he married Dec. 28, 1968; and three children, Josh, Seth and Rachel, all at home. He retired Dec. 25, 1992, after 22 years service as a forest technician with the Pa. Department of Forestry. He was presently employed at the King and Bungard Lumber Company, Inc., Markleton. He was a member of the First United Church of Christ, Ebensburg; Pa. Forestry Assoc., Society of American Foresters, Pa. Forest Fire Wardens, Carrolltown Rod and Gun Club, Scullton Rod and Gun Club and the Altoona-Johnstown Tres Dias. He was a committee member for Boy Scout Troop 71 in Carrolltown. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Stevens Funeral Home, Inc., in Carrolltown. Friends also received from 9 a.m. to time of service at noon Monday, at the Scullton Wesley Chapel. The Rev. Dr. Robert Smitley and the Rev. Thomas Zimmerman officiating. Interment, Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the New Centerville Fire Company or the Scullton Wesley Chapel. Due to the inclement weather the following change is made. Friends will be received from noon to time of service at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Wesley Chapel, Scullton, Pa. Stevens Funeral Home, Inc., Carrolltown is serving the Bungard family.
