Bungard, 77, of Meyersdale, died Jan. 3, 1999 at Meyersdale Medical Center. Born May 12, 1921 in Meyersdale, son of the late Roy and Elsie (Barmoy) Bungard. Also preceded in death by two brothers, Verl S. Bungard and James Bungard, and two grandchildren. Survived by his wife, the former Betty D. Diveley and five children: Judy A. Kloppenburg, Labadie, Mo.; Kevin O. Bungard and Russell E. Bungard, both of Meyersdale; Allen D. Bungard, Jacksonville, Fla., and Mollie L. Hutchins, Pacific, Mo. Also 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. A brother of Robert D. Bungard, Meyersdale. A member of the Amity United Church of Christ, Meyersdale. Veteran of U.S. Army, World War II. Retired from Acme Markets with 24 years of service and from the Somerset State Hospital as a psychiatric aide. Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. Monday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale, where service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, with Pastor Bruce Ashlock officiating. Interment, Reformed Cemetery, Meyersdale. Memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation or the Diabetes Foundation. Daily American, January 4, 1999 [B3123]
