BURKE Charles Franklin Burke, 69, of Black Township, died at the home of his son, Charles Burke of Boswell, Saturday evening, March 1, 1947. Death was attributed to a heart attack. Mr. Burke, who was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Burke, was born in 1878 in Garrett where he lived many years. He was a woodsman and miner. He is survived by his wife, Zura Roy Burke, and the son above mentioned. A daughter, Kathryn Burke Burkholder preceded him in death. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Wilma Burkholder Werner, and Richard Burkholder of Garrett, Arlene Nancy Lee and Caryl Burke of Boswell, and one grandson, Freddie Werner of Garrett. Friends were received at the Mills and Mickey Funeral Home in Rockwood, where services were held Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock with the Rev. Hillis G. Berkey, pastor of the Lutheran Church officiating. Interment was made in the Highland Cemetery, Garrett. Meyersdale Republican, March 6, 1947
