"Red" Burke, 65, Meyersdale died June 12, 1985 in Ranson, W. Va. Born Dec. 21, 1919 in Garrett, son of the late George S. and Margaret A. (Smith) Burke Sr. Preceded in death by step-mother, Fern Ott. Survived by wife, former Lodis Faye Nazelrod; and daughter, Miss Sydne Faye Burke, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. Brother of Mrs. Mabel F. Baer, Meyersdale. Veteran of U.S. Army, World War II. Member of First United Methodist Church, Meyersdale; BPOE Lodge 1951; VFW Post 3504; American Legion Post 112; and Maple Leaf Rod and Gun Club. Life member of Meyersdale Volunteer Fire Department. Retired Dec. 25, 1981 as Meyersdale postmaster. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale. Service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church, the Rev. Charles Harper officiating. Interment, Union Cemetery.
