He was born Aug. 8, 1935 in Jefferson Borough, Allegheny County. A son of the late James and Louise (Crawford) Burke. He is survived by his wife, Priscilla (Qualters) Burke; a daughter, Anne M. Nolf and her husband, Glen of Wake Forest, N.C.; two granddaughters, Kathleen M. and Caroline Lee Nolf; a brother, William Burke and his wife, Winifred of Elizabeth Twp.; a sister, Sarah Burke DeFazio and her husband, Dominic of Confluence; aunts and an uncle, nieces and nephews, Deborah Burke Clarke, William Burke, Jr., David A. Burke, Karen Jean Cecchini and Nicole DeFazio. Also four grand-nephews. He was a resident of Clairton, Allegheny County until moving to Addison in 1991. He worked 34 years for USX-Clairton Works in the boilermaking and engineering departments. He also served in the US army Reserves as a Supply Sergeant at Fort Knox, Ky. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Humber Funeral Home in Confluence with the Rev. Timothy Rogers officiating. No viewing or visitation. A private burial at Addison Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family. Family suggests memorial contributions to Habitat for Humanity or Somerset County Humane Society.
