  BURKETT
  
    Leora Mae Burkett, 88, Somerset RD 8, our Christian mother went to
  be with our Lord, April 10, 1989 at Somerset Hospital.  Born Aug. 30,
  1900 in Somerset, daughter of the late Christ and Lena (McVicker)
  Koontz. Also preceded by husband, Franklin S. Burkett Sr., and sons,
  Melvin and Merle.  Survived by these children: James, with whom she
  resided; Miss Katherine, Edward, Mrs. Donald (Marie) Shaffer,
  Kenneth, and Mrs. John (Shirley) Bishop, all of Somerset; Frank S.
  Jr., and Mrs. Dorothy Cline, both of Seminole, Fla.; and Ms. Leora
  Peters, Virginia Beach, Va.; 35 grandchildren; and numerous
  great-grandchildren.  Also survived by brother, William Koontz,
  Pittsburgh and sister-in-law, Mrs. Hazel Koontz, Somerset.  Friends
  received from 2-5 and 6-9 p.m. today at Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home,
  where service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday.  Rev. Leonard J. Day
  and Dr. Melvin E. Vance, officiating.  Interment, St. John's
  Cemetery.  Family suggests contributions to the Faith Alliance
  Church, Box 1451, Gray, Pa. 15544
