Burkey, 66, Hollsopple, died April 25, 2006, at Memorial Medical Center, Main Campus, Johnstown. Born March 6, 1940, in South Fork, son of Clarence W. ÒSparkyÓ and Helen (Leventry) Burkey. Preceded in death by parents and sisters, Janet and Maryann Burkey. Survived by wife of 43 years, the former Phyllis Bisel; children, Maria Mosher, and fiancŽ, Alan Fulmer, Jerome; Michelle, married to Spc. Kevin Hostetler, Johnstown; Michael, Hollsopple; and Yvette, Virginia; grandchil- dren, Damian Mosher; Rachelle and Nikki Jurich; and Amanda Grace and Keyran Hostetler; brother, William, married to the for- mer Dorothy Ferre, Davidsville; sisters, Sandy, widow of Robert Stultz, Hollsopple, and Linda, mar- ried to Rick Rager, Davidsville; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Bill and Judy Tranovich, Maple Ridge. Former coal miner and retired electrician. A member of the Bethel United Methodist Church, Hollsopple, Somerset County Search and Rescue and Hollsopple Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and painting landscapes. Viewing from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Davidsville, where a service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Robert Moffat and the Rev. Earl Crissman offici- ating. Interment, Mount Hope Cemetery, South Fork.
