  BURKEY
  
    Thomas L. Burkey, Jr., 65, of Confluence, died April 12, 1993 at
  Somerset Hospital.  Born Aug. 25, 1927 in Dunbar Township, he is
  survived by his wife, Ruth Hockman (Fichtner) Burkey; three
  step-daughters:  Nancy Ruth, married to Robert Mitchell of
  Confluence; Sally Ann Fichtner of Somerset and Barbara Jane, married
  to Ronald Shipley of Confluence; also six grandchildren: Randy,
  Allen, David J., and Rebecca Erin Mitchell; Brooke Ashley Fichtner,
  Jena Marie and Bria Whitley Shipley.  Preceded in death by a
  sister.  A U.S. Army veteran.  A member of Confluence VFW Post
  7350.  Also member Turkeyfoot Fish and Game Association and Three
  Rivers Rod and Gun Club.  Employed by Somerset Area Agency on
  Aging.  Former school bus driver for Somerset Area School District. 
  Friends are being received from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at the
  Humbert Funeral Home, Confluence where service will be held at 1 p.m.
  Thursday, with Rev. James Smiley officiating.  Interment, Baptist
  Cemetery Confluence.
