SUSANNA BURKHARD

  Mrs. Susanna Catherine Burkhard died at her home in West Salisbury, Tuesday, 
Feb. 15.  Cause of death was cholecystitis, acute gangrenous.  She was born Jan. 
11, 1857, in Accident, Md., the daughter of Michael and Elizabeth (Diehl) 
Menhorn.  Her husband, John Burkhard, preceded her in death in 1927.
  She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Mary Speicher, Salisbury, and Mrs. 
Emilie Weber, West Salisbury, one son, Harry Burkhard and an adopted son, Irvin 
Burkhard, both of Cleveland, O.; also by 13 grandchildren and 12 great-
grandchildren.  Surviving also are these sisters and brothers: Mrs. Lewis 
Miller, Mrs. Lilly Gray and William Menhorn of Zanesville, O., and Herman 
Menhorn, Sipesville.
  Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2:30 p.m., at the home in West 
Salisbury, conducted by Rev. Fickensher of the Accident German Lutheran Church.  
Burial will be made in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Salisbury, under the direction of 
Stanley M. Thomas.
