Wesley Burkholder, who was one of the most widely known men in the southern part of Somerset County, died January 21 at his home near Nicolay, aged 60 years. He had been ill for a long period. The deceased took a deep interest in local politics, and for a long time was a power among the voters of his district. He was a unique character, but had many friends. Interment took place in the Jersey Cemetery on Sunday following his death when the Rev. W. L. LePage, pastor of the Confluence Methodist Church officiated. Meyersdale Commercial, Feb. 4, 1915
