Born Jan. 1, 1920, in Gray, the son of Anthony and Rose (Jamrozik) Burkosky (Burek). Preceded in death by parents; stepfather, Charles Wigstrom; sisters Mary Vinosky, Ann Beader and Blanche Semock; brothers, John and Henry Burkosky; and half brothers, Charles and Fred Wigstrom. Survived by numerous nieces and nephews, including the children of his late sister and brother-in-law, Mary and John Vinosky, with whom he had resided for more than 20 years, John Vinosky, Jenner Township; Betty, married to Bill Williams, Johnstown; Alice Goodin, Jerome; Ben, Bill and David Vinosky, all of Boswell; Ginger, married to Joe Rock, Daulphin; and Gerald Vinosky, Somerset. Half brother of Alice Tipton, Rockwood; Dorothy St.Clair, Jenner Township, and Edward Wigstrom, Johnstown. U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having received a Good Conduct Medal and the American Theater and World War II victory ribbons. Had been employed by the former Vinosky Disposal Service, Boswell, and also worked as an auto body mechanic in Florida. Viewing from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and noon until time of service at 1 p.m. Friday at the Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Allegheny Street, Boswell. The Rev. Dr. Joseph M. Beer officiating. Interment, Beam Cemetery, near Gray, with graveside military rites in charge of the Somerset County Honor Guard.
