She was born April 27, 1928, in Confluence. Daughter of the late James and Hazel McNair Younkin. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Confluence. In addition to parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Charlotte and Pearl, and one brother, James Younkin. She is survived by her husband, Lester (Skinny) Burns; three children, Larry Conn, Youngstown, Pa.; Thomas Conn, Latrobe, and Mrs. Roy (Linda) Schmucker, Loyalhanna, Pa. Four step-children - Kenneth Burns, New Alexandria; Duane, Latrobe; Mrs. Hobert (Darlene) Porterfield, Ligonier, and Mrs. Gene Charlene Springer, Rector; also five sisters - Bessie Campbell, Zola Baroni, Mabel Plume and Jessie Yeager, all of Confluence, and Vesta Kirzgavins, Latrobe. Seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild and 10 step-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Snyder Funeral Home, Route 982 south, Latrobe, from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday. Services will be held in the funeral home at 8:30 p.m. Thursday, with Rev. Thomas Charles officiating. Additional services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday in the Church of the Nazarene, Confluence, where the body will lie in state one hour prior to the service.
