Burnworth, 85, Markleysburg, passed away Aug. 2, 2001 in Kamp's Personal Care Home, Markleysburg. He was born Oct. 13, 1915 in Confluence. Son of the late John R. and Ada Close Burnworth. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Elmer Burnworth and a sister Loretta Humberson. Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Elsie I. Glover Burnworth, children: Doloris Dixon of Markleysburg, Janice Sechler and husband Ted of Harrisburg, and Jack Burnworth and wife Sandy of Pompano Beach, Fla. Grandchildren, Charles Miller, Cindy Miller Wolfe, Kimberly Sechler Shettle, Jacquie Burnworth, Kris Sechler and Angela Burnworth Ratliff. Seven great-grandchildren. Mr. Burnworth was a member of the Markleysburg Union Church and a charter member of the Markleysburg-Henry Clay Vol. Fire Dept. He was a former School Director for Henry Clay Township. He was former owner and operator of Art's Cycle Shop in Markleysburg. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Friday and on Saturday until 2 p.m. the hour of service in the Rodney S. Turner Funeral Home, 254 Main St., Markleysburg with Rev. David Peters officiating. Interment will follow in Thomas Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Markleysburg-Henry Clay VFD, the Marclay Ambulance or the Fayette Homecare Hospice, 100 Woodlawn Ave., Uniontown, Pa. 15401.
