All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/somerset/ ________________________________________________ HARRY PALMER BURNWORTH Harry Palmer Burnworth died at his home at Johnson Chapel, Henry Clay Township, Fayette County, about two miles from Confluence, at 1 p.m., Tuesday, after an illness of several years, the past few weeks of which he was confined to his bed, suffering from a nervous breakdown. Harry P. Burnworth was born on the old Burnworth farm in Henry Clay Township on Dec. 22, 1875, and lived 55 years, 4 months and 6 days. He was a son of the late Zeba and Annabel Burnworth, both of whom preceded him to the grave. He was a life long member of the Johnson Chapel Methodist Episcopal Church, a prominent member of Confluence Lodge, 814, I.O.O.F., and a member of the local Grange. He was a graduate of the California, Pa., and Lock Haven State Norman Schools, and when young taught school for several terms in Henry Clay Township. Since that time he was engaged in farming and also in the lumber and pit-prop business. Mr. Burnworth was married about thirty years ago to Ada, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas L. Butler. He is survived by his wife and two sons, Wade Burnworth, a student in Mt. Union College, Alliance, Ohio, and Fred, at home. He is also survived by three brothers, Jonathan L. and William A. Burnworth, of Confluence, and Norman Burnworth of Uniontown, and one sister, Mrs. J. W. Wilson of near Dunbar. Meyersdale Republican, April 30, 1931
