Burnworth, 77, of Confluence, died Oct. 14, 1985, at West Virginia University Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va. Born Sept. 4, 1908, near Terra Alta, W.Va., daughter of the late Orville D. and May (Forman) Cuppett. Also preceded in death by one brother, Darwin Cuppett and one grandson. Survived by her husband, Wade Burnworth; two sons, Scott and Allan; one daughter, Winona B. Palmer; seven grandchildren; and one brother, Hugh Cuppett. A retired school teacher who last taught at the Marclay Elementary School, her teaching career included employment at various Fayette and Somerset County schools as well as schools in Maryland and Ohio. She was a 4-H leader in the Henry Clay-Markleysburg area for 24 years. Other affiliations included the Johnson Chapel United Methodist Church and Kingwood Grange No. 1765. At her request, her body was donated for medical research. A memorial service will be held at Johnson Chapel United Methodist Church, Confluence, Saturday, Oct. 19, at 2 p.m., with the Rev. August Twigg officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Daily American, October 17, 1985 [B3258]
