Burow was killed in action June 2, 1944. Military honors were in charge of the Addison Post American Legion. The Rev. Raymond Hitchcock conducted the funeral services and the burial was in the Addison cemetery. Besides his mother, he leaves three brothers and two sisters - Mrs. Helen Ryan and Dale Burow of Baltimore, Md.; Carl Burlow of Markleysburg; June and Bobby at home. Pvt. Burow was highly esteemed in his community, and the floral tributes were many and beautiful. Those who attended the funeral from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Dale Boyle, Mrs. Bertha Boyle, Mrs. Ralph Brooks and Miss Edna Failinger, all of Pittsburgh. Meyersdale Republican, August 5, 1948
