Bush, 81, Berlin, died Oct. 16, 2004, at Somerset Hospital. Born Jan. 5, 1923, in Indiana, Pa., he is the son of Marion M. and Mary (McHenry) Bush. He is preceded in death by his parents and an infant granddaughter. Survived by his wife of 57 years, the former Jean Vargo; children, Thomas Allan and his wife Pam Bush, David Miles and his wife Patricia Bush, both of Oregon; Joan L. and husband Norman Menhorn, Berlin; Harold Craig and his wife, Lori (Brant) Bush, Oregon; grandchildren: Brad and Eric Bush, and Katie, Nathan and Emily Menhorn and a brother Robert and his wife Theresa Bush, Indiana, Pa. He was a former Business Education teacher for Berlin Brothersvalley School District retiring in 1985 after 37 1/2 years of service. While teaching he directed many class plays, was an adviser for Future Business Leaders of America and advised the Berlin Maple Princesses and Maple Queens, senior classes and graduation ceremonies and twirling clubs and majorettes. He was a graduate of Indiana High School, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and received his masters at the University of Pittsburgh. He as a member of St. Gregory's Catholic Church, Macdonaldton and a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus. Former member of Valley Grange 878 of Beachdale, Berlin Lions Club, Berlin Brothersvalley Community Fair Board, Pa. Maple Festival Queen's Committee and the Adult Bell Choir of Berlin Brethren Church. He was a member and past president of Berlin Brothersvalley Community Grove Association, N.E.A. and the Pennsylvania State Education Association. He was an honorary farmer of the Brothersvalley F.F.A. He was a Navy veteran of World War II serving in the Pacific Theatre and a member of Berlin American Legion Harry Fisher Post 445, V.F.W. Robert Walker Post 7295 and the Last Man's Club, all of Berlin. Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Gregory's Catholic Church, Macdonaldton. The Rev. James M. Dugan officiating. Committal will be in Berlin IOOF Cemetery.
