Butler, 69, Somerset, died Dec. 28, 2004, at his residence. Born June 30, 1935, in Quecreek, he is the son of the late Russell Jacob and Evelyn (Shaulis) Butler May. Also preceded in death by a stepbrother and stepsister. Survived by his wife, Arlene "Dolly" (Arden) Butler, to whom he was married 51 years; brother, Charles Friedline, Quecreek; and a number of cousins and nieces and nephews. Also survived by his pet and buddy, Cuddles. Member of the First Christian Church. Veteran of the Korean War, where he served as a Military Police. Employed as a heavy equipment operator for several companies and an inspector for the PUC. He also was an avid hunter and fisherman. Friends received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home, where service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday. The Rev. Daniel F. Nicksich and the Rev. John J. Barchey officiating. Interment in Somerset County Memorial Park.
