He was born January 31, 1920 in Jennings, MD, son of the late Elroy C. Butler and Nora (Miller) Butler Lottig. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Arlene Resh, September 28, 2003, and a brother, Harold Butler. He is survived by three daughters: Carolyn Woodford and husband Dick, Austinburg, OH; Judy Repasy and husband, George, Barnesville, OH; Zona Magda and husband, Richard, Austinburg. Also survived by brother, John Butler, and a half-brother, Leonard Lottig, both of Meyersdale; two sisters, Thelma Diest and Wilda Baker, both of Meyersdale; six grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Mr. Butler was a truck driver for Commercial Motor Freight for 30 years and a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII. He was a member of Jefferson United Methodist Church, the V.F.W. and American Legions, Post 214, Grantsville, MD. Private services were held on Monday with the Rev. Alan Birkby officiating. Interment was in Grantsville Cemetery. Military graveside rites were accorded by Grantsville Post 214, American Legion.
