  BUTLER
  
    Ray W. Butler, 74, of Meyersdale, died Jan. 13, 1997, at his
  home.  Born Jan. 30, 1922, in Grantsville, Md., a son of the late
  Abram M. and Arminta C. (Durst) Butler.  Also preceded in death by
  his wife, the former Anna Mary Darrah; six brothers and two
  sisters.  Survived by his son, Cary D. Butler, Proctorville, Ohio,
  and a grandson, C. J. Butler.  A brother of Faye Butler, Baltimore,
  Md.; Joan Resh, Salisbury RD 1; Fern Fitzpatrick, Grantsville, Md.,
  and Florence Tharp, Frostburg, Md.  Army veteran of World War II. 
  member of Amity United Church of Christ, VFW Post 3504.  Former
  member of Meyersdale Borough Council.  Friends will be received from
  2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale,
  where service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, with Pastor
  Bruce Ashlock officiating.  Interment SS. Philip & James Cemetery,
  Meyersdale.
