All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/somerset/ ________________________________________________ REBECCA BUTLER Mrs. Rebecca Butler, 79, widow of the late Jessie Butler, died at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Loy Miller, at Jennings, on Monday, April 8, after a lingering illness. Funeral services were held at Jennings Lutheran Church Wednesday morning, Rev. George Bowersox, the pastor, assisted by Rev. Ross Speicher, officiated. Interment was made in the Grantsville cemetery. Mrs. Butler was the daughter of the late Jessie and Esther (Warnick) Glotfelty, and was born at McHenry, Md., October 24, 1866. She was married to Mr. Butler March 27, 1887. He passed away eight years ago. Twelve children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Butler, ten who survive being Gilbert and Orin Butler, Akron, O.; Kim Butler, Security, Md.; Gordon Butler, Elkins, W.Va.; Mrs. Carl Herpick, Cumberland; Mrs. John Walls and Mrs. Loy Miller, Grantsville; Miss Leona Butler, Akron, Ohio; Mrs. King Morgan, Lonaconing; Mrs. Joseph Uphold, Mt. Lake Park. She is also survived by these brothers and sisters: Arch and John Glotfelty, and Mrs. Marion Galbreath, McHenry; Mrs. Ettie Boyer, Johnstown, Pa., and Mrs. Clyde Carr, Phillipsburg, Pa. Mrs. Butler was a faithful member of the Jennings Lutheran Church. She had made her home with her daughter since the death of her husband. Meyersdale Republican, April 11, 1946
