Born November 13, 1918, in Summit Township, a daughter of the late Russell and Inez (Coleman) Shultz. Also preceded in death by her husband Paul E. Butler. Survived by two daughters: Alma Jean wife of William Bridegum, Silver Spring, Md.; and Joyce E. Butler, Silver Spring, Md., two grandchildren: Douglas Bridegum, and Brian Bridegum and his wife Michelle, all of Silver Spring, Md., three great-grandchildren: Sarah, Billy, and Lindsay. Also survived by her special caregiver Julie Walker, considered by the family as her third daughter, and her loyal companion Sam, the family dog. A sister of Dorothy Casteel, Phoenix Ariz., and a half sister of Lois Saylor, Berlin. Ruth was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church Meyersdale. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Price Funeral Home Meyersdale, where a service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday. The Rev. William G. Triebe officiating.
