Born in Treorky, Wales, 70 years ago, Mr. Butler married Margaret Ellen Lewis and came to this country in 1913. He was employed as a weighmaster for the Keystone Coal Co., until 15 years ago, when he left Meyersdale to become head nightman in the Somerset County Hospital, now a State hospital. From 1913 to 1931 Mr. Butler was choir director of the Meyersdale Methodist Church, and is reputed to have had the best bass voice Meyersdale has ever known. He was always willing and able to serve the public with his musical talents. He is survived by two sons, Idris, of California, and Terrance, Pittsburgh, and his wife, who has made her home with Terrance in Pittsburgh, since the illness of her husband. Funeral arrangements are incomplete, but the rites will be conducted in the Price Funeral Home, by Rev. H. F. Gotjen. Interment will be in Union Cemetery under the direction of W. C. Price & Son.
