  ELROY J. BYRD
  
    Elroy J. Byrd, 52, of West Garrett St., Somerset, died Aug. 17,
  1980 at Conemaugh Valley Hospital, Johnstown.
    He was born Oct. 7, 1927 in Somerset Twp., and was a son of the
  late William L. and Laura Catherine (Shunk) Byrd.  He was also
  preceded in death by a brother, Raymond and sister, Virginia.
    He is survived by his widow, the former Betty Jean Landis and a
  daughter, Mrs. Cheryl Ulzheimer, of Mechanicsburg; and three
  grandchildren.  He was a brother of Carl and Mrs. Everett (Betty)
  Weaver, both of Somerset RD 1; and Mrs. Merle (Lucille) Ream of
  Rockwood RD 3.  He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Somerset
  and was a school bus contractor in Stonycreek Twp. 
    He was a veteran of World War II.
    Friends were received at the Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home where
  services were conducted with the Rev. H. James Meyers officiating. 
  Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park.
