He was the oldest resident of the town who had resided there continuously since his birth in 1828. He practiced medicine for more than half a century. He is survived by his wife and six children: Mrs. C.G. Masters, Everett, Pa; Mrs. H.M. Berkley, Somerset, Mrs. C.S.Walker, Cleveland, O., E. Milton Beachley and Misses Grace and Lydia Beachley, of Meyersdale. One son--Dr. William K. Beachley--died shortly after receiving his medical diploma. Dr. Beachley was a son of the late Daniel Beachley, one of the pioneer settlers of Meyersdale, and was a consistent member of the Progressive Brethren Church, and one of the founders of that organization. He was a Republican up until the formation of the Prohibition party, since when he had been an untiring worker for that cause. The funeral took place Saturday afternoon.
