  Amy E. (Alwine) Cable, 81, Soap Hollow, left us for heaven, her eternal home,
  on June 20, 2006, at Windber Regional Hospice. Born Jan. 25, 1925, in Conemaugh
  Township, daughter of John and Sadie Pearl (Thomas) Alwine. Preceded in death by
  parents; husband of 53 years, Elwood J. Cable, on June 2, 2006; brother, Walter
  Alwine; and sisters, Leora Kauffman, Mary Alwine and Ivie Short. Survived by
  sons, ElRoy, married to the former Jean Steckler, Somerset, and Merlin, married
  to former Debra Thomas, Pretty Prairie, Kan.; daughters, Carolyn, married to
  James Sprunger, Goshen, Ind., and Carma, married to Martin Dean, Elkhart, Ind.;
  and grandchildren, Jay and Devin Cable, Somerset; Amos Cable, and wife, Hallie,
  Yoder, Kan.; Joe Cable, Pretty Prairie; Lance Sprunger, Goshen; and
  Christopher, Alex, Charles, Eric and Jonathan Dean, Elkhart. Sister of Naomi
  Holsopple, Archbold, Ohio; Ida, married to Sam Holsopple, Pettisville, Ohio;
  Reda Kaufman, Boswell R.D.; Edna Kauffman, Hollsopple R.D.; and Lowell, married
  to the former Bernice Yoder, Hollsopple. Also survived by sister-in-law, LaVerne
  Speigle, Arbutus Park Manor, formerly of Hollsopple; brother-in-law, Lawrence
  Short, Archbold; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Viewing from 7 to 9
  p.m. Friday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Hoffman Funeral Home &
  Cremation Services, Davidsville. Funeral service at 3 p.m. Sunday at Stahl
  Mennonite Church, Pastor Tom Croyle officiating. No viewing at the church.
  Interment, church cemetery. Donations in Amy's memory may be given to Windber
